“Construction is complex,” says Robin Choate. “But when you have strong relationships, you can navigate challenges and deliver something truly meaningful. Every project is an opportunity to build trust.”
For Robin, that belief isn’t just a professional philosophy, it’s the foundation of a career that has helped shape Denver’s commercial real estate and construction community for more than two decades.
As Director of Business Development and part-owner at Alliance Construction Solutions, Robin has spent more than 21 years growing alongside the company, advancing from an entry-level role to a respected leader whose influence extends far beyond project pursuits. Along the way, she has become known for her commitment to mentorship, relationship-building, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
A Career Built on Commitment
Robin’s journey at Alliance Construction Solutions began more than two decades ago with a willingness to learn and contribute wherever needed. Through hard work, curiosity, and a people-first mindset, she steadily took on new responsibilities and leadership roles, eventually becoming part-owner of the company.
Yet, Robin measures success differently than most.
While professional achievements matter, her greatest pride comes from helping others grow. Throughout her career, she has championed fairness, mentorship, and professional development, helping create a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to build meaningful careers.
That commitment has played an important role in shaping Alliance’s reputation as a company that invests in its people as much as its projects.
Leading with People in Mind
Robin understands firsthand the challenge of balancing professional responsibilities with personal commitments. As a leader, she advocates for flexibility and sustainable workloads, recognizing that long-term success depends on supporting the whole person—not just the employee.
She actively coaches team members, takes time to understand their goals, and helps them navigate challenges as they arise. Her leadership style prioritizes connection, trust, and open communication, creating an environment where people can perform at their best without sacrificing their well-being.
The result is stronger teams, greater engagement, and a workplace culture where people want to stay and grow.
Creating Pathways for Growth
One of Robin’s most enduring contributions has been her commitment to developing future leaders.
She believes that professional growth doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentional investment, meaningful opportunities, and leaders willing to advocate for others.
Throughout her career, Robin has encouraged employees to pursue certifications, continuing education, and leadership opportunities that expand their skills and confidence. Beyond formal development programs, she provides ongoing mentorship and sponsorship, helping individuals take on new responsibilities and advance their careers.
Her impact can be seen in the many professionals who have grown into leadership roles with her encouragement and support.
Strengthening the Industry Through Relationships
Known throughout the architecture, engineering, construction, and commercial real estate community for her ability to connect people, Robin understands that strong relationships are often the foundation of successful projects and thriving careers.
Whether organizing team-building events, supporting industry organizations, or creating networking opportunities, she consistently brings people together in meaningful ways.
Her efforts strengthen not only Alliance’s culture but also the broader industry, creating spaces where professionals feel welcomed, supported, and connected.
Honoring the Past While Building the Future
Robin’s passion for creating opportunities reached new heights during her tenure as President of CREW Denver in 2025.
One of her proudest accomplishments was launching the CREW Denver Membership Scholarship Program, designed to connect undergraduate and graduate students with the commercial real estate industry and provide early access to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.
“If we want to build a more inclusive industry, we need to start by opening doors early,” Robin says. “These students bring fresh perspectives and energy, and they deserve the chance to see themselves in this field.”
She also championed the Step-Up Award, recognizing members who went above and beyond in supporting CREW Denver’s mission. By celebrating both emerging talent and established leaders, Robin helped foster a culture of recognition, inspiration, and community.
Throughout her presidency, she remained focused on a central goal: honoring the women who paved the way while creating pathways for the next generation of leaders.
Lessons in Leadership
Reflecting on her time as CREW Denver President, Robin describes the experience as one of the greatest honors of her professional life.
While many organizations measure success through metrics and milestones, Robin often points to the quieter moments as the most meaningful.
“What stands out are the conversations that turned into friendships, the introductions that opened doors, and the candid discussions after events,” she says. “Those moments mattered as much as any formal program.”
Her experience reinforced a leadership philosophy grounded in listening, authenticity, and consistency.
“I learned that vulnerability can make you a stronger leader,” she says. “Impact doesn’t always show up in metrics. Sometimes it looks like remembering names, following through, and taking the time to recognize something good.”
Looking Ahead
As Robin continues her leadership journey at Alliance Construction Solutions, her focus remains firmly on supporting the people who make success possible.
“My role is to make sure Alliance continues to operate at a premier level, internally and externally, so our clients consistently experience professionalism at every touchpoint,” she explains. “But that only happens because of the people I work with—our teammates in the field and behind the scenes who bring expertise and dedication to every project.”
That collaborative mindset also shapes her vision for the future.
As a founding member of the Colorado Women’s Affordable Housing Network (CO WAHN), Robin will serve as President in 2026. In this role, she plans to expand educational opportunities, strengthen connections with policymakers, and create programs that highlight the lasting community impact of affordable housing initiatives.
“I leave this role with gratitude, deeper relationships, and a renewed belief in community,” she says of her CREW Denver presidency. “Thank you, CREW Denver. It has been an honor I will not forget.”
A Lasting Impact
Robin Choate’s legacy extends far beyond buildings and business development. She is a mentor, advocate, connector, and leader dedicated to helping others succeed.
By investing in people, fostering meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities for future generations, she continues to shape not only Denver’s built environment but also the careers and lives of those around her.
And for Robin, that’s what leadership is all about.
